Want to see everyones opinion on deleting tanks and other OP vehicles that are just boring and making it unplayable?
Me and quite a few mates are agreeing that Bringing back old vehicles back like the Armoured SUV, Vodnik, HMMV, BTR, But a tank going 100mph everywhere & shooting people 1k away isnt fun, Sat in a tank all day instead of going to missions with a DMR is 2 different games, This doesnt feel like DayZ at all just feels like a King off the hill type mode and whoever has the better vehicle wins, not about skill or patience anymore. Surely its not enjoyable sat on it and not even looting people because its too easy kills and your too stacked

Everybody has their own playstyle, the same way every server has its own style or theme. With the decline in player count in Arma 2 the number of populated servers is also declining.

What you are suggesting is a huge shift in style. From semi/mil to 7.62 only. Doing that would kill a significant portion of the player base. Genesis has been this way for as long as I have been here and appears to be a tried and tested way of being in the top 3 servers, often times being #1.

Its one of the old debates that will never get settled; remove tanks, remove lockons, day/night cycle, etc

My Opinion: Nah

It’s funny because I’m actually replying to an old post here. I’ve been playing DayZ for years, and lately, the whole tank situation just feels off. I remember back when the game had a more tactical feel – you had to be patient, and every encounter was intense. Now, it’s like whoever has the best vehicle wins, and it’s just not as fun. I had a similar frustration with tanks being too OP, but a few months ago, I found Kernaim cheats. At first, I was skeptical, but they offer the best legit and secure cheats that don't ruin the game – they just help balance things out a bit when you’re feeling stuck. It made the experience more enjoyable.

It feels off but that's the way the players here enjoy it. Most have been here for years and prefer the playstyle over any other. I feel like tanks and vehicles are a way of rewarding yourself for doing missions etc. With no tanks or heli's what would be the objective? Bicycle around a massive map trying to kill each other with m110NV? for what gains? More crappy guns.

Wouldn't even be a point of raiding people for their rubies. What you goanna spend those rubies on? A camo SUV that tires break after driving over a tree branch?
Just my two cents.

Complete agree with @Eclimics
Genesis has always been this way, and that won't change. We'd be morons to turn Genesis into essentially vanilla epoch just because a few people don't like the way Genesis is set up. Unfortunately this is a case of if you don't like it, find a server you do. I understand there arent many populated servers left but simply put - its not our job to cater for those who don't like Genesis.

i already said it on the Discord.
If you want to play DayZ w/o Tanks etc., there is safe still a Vanilla DayZ Mod Server out there but with 0 population.

Why does it have 0 population? Well, it's only fun in your nostalgia. It was fun back then because everything was new to us but now the Zombies for example are only there to be annoying and give away your position.

Vanilla DayZ has no long time motivation to keep playing it tbh, thats why Genesis is last man standing with alot of players who are playing here for years now.
